Research is ongoing into the life of Arthur Jolly.

The following information is taken from Chorley’s Bomber Command Losses volume for Operational Training Units;

12 OTU. Wellington X LN446 Training.

Took off at 21:34 from Chipping Warden for a Bullseye detail.
About an hour into the flight, the starboard engine failed and while trying to reach Worksop Airfield the Wellington crashed at 22:49, heavily, just short of the runway.
Sgt. Jolly (Alexander Arthur) is the sole service burial in Dowsby (St. Andrew) Churchyard.
